Perinatal and Infant Oral Care

Maintaining a healthy diet combined with regular dental visits goes a long way to reducing the likelihood of developing periodontal disease during pregnancy. Mothers who have poor oral health increase the risk of preterm and low birth weight infants.

We recommend for mothers-to-be, to follow these recommendations;

  • reduce intake of high sugar, high starch foods and drinks
  • use a fluoridated toothpaste and alcohol-free mouth rinse nightly
  • brush and floss daily to reduce plaque
  • visit your dentist twice in the year

Children’s First Visit

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) recommends that a child go to the dentist by age 1 or within six months after the first tooth erupts. Primary teeth typically begin growing in around 6 months of age.

Our pediatric team has been trained to work with children, especially when it comes to their first visit.

We make every effort to provide a fun, educational and stress-free visit for your child.

Special Needs Children

We specialize in oral care for children with special needs, specifically children with autism, varying levels of mental retardation, or cerebral palsy.

We offer nitrous oxide and complete sedation services including General Anesthesia provided by Dr. Jose Rivero, our on-site dental anesthesiologist.

We take pride in our sensitivity and level of care for all our patients, especially those with special needs.
